Description

The 27,034-acre Moore Plantation Wildlife Management Area, located in the southern Sabine National Forest, offers hunting for those who possess the required permit, stamp or license from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) (call 1-800-792-1112 or visit the State web site at: http://www.tpwd.state.us). Camping is restricted to designated sites from early October to January each year.

Deer stands can be used but must be portable; any stand left unattended for more than 72 hours is subject to be confiscated. Baiting is not allowed, and it is also illegal to plant food for deer.

The use of motor vehicles is restricted to designated roads. All terrain vehicles are not allowed in Moore Plantation, except by qualified disabled persons.

Hunting or discharge of weapons is not allowed down or across designated trails, roads, open bodies of water or in designated hunter camps.

HUNTER ORANGE - Hunters must wear 400 square inches of daylight fluorescent orange and a daylight fluorescent orange cap or hat.

OFF ROAD VEHICLES - Are not allowed in Moore Plantation.
