Food:
Seafood and traditional American cuisine are the big food genres here, with seafood being the dominant one by a long stretch. Like much of Texan coastal food, the seafood has a distinctly Cajun flavor.
Music:
Galveston doesn’t have much of a live music scene, but it does have one. Much of the live music is performed on the weekends, but there’s a fun piano (and/or karaoke) bar or two. There’s some sites for excellent blues and jazz performances. The Galveston Outdoor Musicals are a lot of fun, and the Opera House is there for the opera fan.
