Lake Amistad represents some of the southern United States' best assets. Situated just 2 1/2 hours west of San Antonio on the United States-Mexico border, this beautiful lake is home to 850 miles of stunning limestone cliffs and sandy beaches, an incredible array of wildlife and outdoor recreation, year-round warm waters, and a huge collection of preserved historical artifacts left by generations of hunters and gatherers that once called the area home (many of which remain undiscovered).
Amistad is known for the many vibrant colors found within its banks and cliffs, a stark contrast to the rest of the south Texas desert. In addition to the sheer beauty of the place, the water-driven recreation can't be beat. Average water temperature here is 82 degrees, which means your thirst for water sports is ready to be quenched.
