With over 113 miles of Gulf Coast beaches and bay, the Corpus Christi area is well known for surf and fun. Water activities range from building sand castles and fishing to extreme water sports. Kiteboarding and wind surfing are enhanced by the almost constant winds and relatively calm waters; it's one of the top 10 windsurfing spots in the world.

Known as the "Gateway to Mexico," Laredo is on the banks of the Rio Grande River, across from its sister town of Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. Like many Texas border towns, it's a blend of Mexico and Texas cultures. You can park at the International Bridge and walk across to Mexico to enjoy the exciting sights and sounds of shopping and dining.

The Rio Grande Valley is in the southernmost tip of Texas, a semi-tropical paradise bordering Mexico and including the Gulf Coast shores. Palm trees and orchards of citrus trees line the roads. Luscious, locally grown citrus fruit and vegetables are readily available at roadside stands, including juicy red Valley grapefruits and sweet Texas Vidalia onions.
